WODC approves planning application for Gladman development on Cote Road

22/7/2015

The planning application for the development on Cote Road, Aston, adjacent to Foxwood put forward by Gladman Developments (15/01550/OUT) was approved by the members of the WODC Lowlands Planning Committee at their meeting on 20 July 2015.  The planning officers have been asked to look further at the possible use of some of the s106 funding to be paid by the developer to create a traffic calming scheme on Cote Road, and to consider how the open space at the rear of the site may be protected in perpetuity - this could be, for example, by using the space to create a new allotment site.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to submit a response to WODC.

Gladman planning application for Cote Road - site visit and WODC committee meeting date

10/7/2015

The members of WODC's Lowlands Planning Committee (the body that will make the final decision on whether to approve the development submitted by Gladman for the land adjacent to Foxwood on Cote Road) will be carrying out a visit to the proposed development site in Aston next Thursday, 16 July 2015 at 11.30am.

Members of the public can be present at the site to make their views clear (by their presence/banners/placards only - they are not permitted to approach the WODC Committee members nor to speak to them).

The Committee will then be meeting to consider the application at a formal Planning Meeting on Monday 20 July 2015 at 2pm in Committee Room 1 at the WODC offices on Woodgreen, Witney.  Members of the public are welcome to attend and observe the meeting, and 1 member of the public representing people who object can request to speak - this request must be made by 12.00pm on Friday 17 July.   More information about speaking at a WODC meeting can be found
here.
The Parish Council chairman will be attending the meeting to speak on behalf of the Parish Council.

The planning officer is currently recommending approval of the application because of WODC's inability to demonstrate an adequate supply of land for development for the next five years.  The planning officer's report can be found here:
Committee papers.

The Committee does take public views on board, so if you have a view and can make the time to attend the site meeting and/or the WODC Committee meeting, please do so.
